It was a perfect day to start the weekend and the wheels started rolling to Indiana Dune State Park which is a mixture of trails, camping, lake, and nature what you can ask for to get away from the busy schedules that we all are in together.
The park is surrounded by Chicago on the east, Lake Michigan on northwest, and the rest of the park is covered by sand dunes. The lake is very clear, calm, warm, and most of the people are very close to the bouy. We got carried over by the feeling of touching the bouy without thinking for a second, looks like the destiny or fate is also waiting for us to take that action. One step towards the bouy followed by the second step at a low plateau submerged into the water with no swimming skills, with no people around I was counting the last few seconds and I was praying for help in the submerged state. In the struggle for existence I stepped on higher plateau now I am able to have my mouth out of the water surface and use all efforts to shout for help.
My Angel #1 is a little girl who along with her brother and father they touched the bouy and were little away from where I was while struggling , she spotted something is fishy and turned to her father and he came to rescue. So her father is my Angel #2. The Park staff Dan he is my Angel #3. I had seen god in the three amazing people who were there for me at the right place and right time, else I am not here to document this story today. Thank you for my Angels.
After reaching the shore do you thought my problems solved, guess what I came across another problem. In the struggle for saving my life in the lake I had accidentally dropped the car keys in the lake. Long story short it took 5 days and $600 for replacing the key. Fast Facts – We can claim this type of loss under comprehensive claims which I learned after spending several hours of conversation with the insurance representatives because only 10% of people know what they are doing.
The next day I started exploring the trails, made friends with the staff at the park site, camped in the park for couple of days enjoyed the sunrise, sunsets, trails, and 3 Dunes challenge which is an amazing experience. My journey at the Indiana Dunes State Park started with an experience that we can only imagine to never happen, however that didn’t stop from enjoying and living the life to the fullest
